Sri Lanka makes tourist visa free for India

Sri Lanka has said that nationals of 40 countries, including India, are now eligible to obtain free tourist visa (Electronic Travel Authorisation) for a 30-day period. The other countries include Australia, Canada, China, Pakistan, US, UK, Nepal, Israel and Thailand among others. Applicants who wish to stay beyond 30 days can apply for an extension after paying a fee.

Iran repackages toll imposed on ships using Strait of Hormuz as 'environment' fee

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said the money Iran is collecting from ships passing through Strait of Hormuz isn't a toll but a fee for navigation and environmental protection. Repackaging the toll, Baqaei said, "We're not levying any taxes, and we don't wish to collect any tolls." He called the fee a "very responsible move" by Iran and Oman.

Clashes erupt in Mumbai over shelter for goat sacrifice on Eid

A dispute over the construction of a shed to house goats for sacrifice on Eid inside residential complex escalated into protests and later turned violent in Mumbai's Meera Road area.
