120 dead in Ebola outbreak in DR Congo

At least 120 people have died in an outbreak of a rare Ebola strain in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, with more than 513 suspected cases reported. The WHO has declared the outbreak caused by the Bundibugyo virus a "public health emergency of international concern". The virus spreads through direct contact with bodily fluids and through broken skin.

Delhi recorded highest dowry deaths among metro cities in 2024: NCRB

According to data released by the National Crime Records Bureau, 5,737 dowry deaths were reported in India in 2024. Among metropolitan cities, Delhi recorded the highest number of dowry deaths for the fifth consecutive year with 109 cases. Kanpur reported 54 dowry deaths, while Bengaluru recorded 25 deaths. Chennai and Kochi reported zero dowry deaths, the data showed.
