Mumbai-Pune E-way 'Missing Link' sets Guinness World Record for widest underground tunnel

The Mumbai-Pune Expressway 'Missing Link' project, inaugurated by Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis on Friday, has entered the Guinness Book of World Records for the 'world’s widest underground tunnel'. The 8.92 km long tunnel, part of the 'Missing Link' project, made a world record for its 22.33-metre width. Over 85 lakh tonnes of rock were excavated to construct the tunnel.
