Lawyers for Sam Altman’s sister withdraw from sexual abuse lawsuit

The two law firms representing Sam Altman’s sister in her sexual abuse lawsuit against the OpenAI chief executive have withdrawn from the case. In a court filing, the Mahoney Law Firm and the Simon Law Firm cited “a breakdown in the attorney-client relationship” that made continuing to represent Annie Altman in the case “impracticable.” The withdrawal requires court approval.

Afghanistan summons Pak diplomat after missile attack

Afghanistan summoned the Chargé d'Affaires of the Pakistani Embassy in Kabul after Pakistani strikes on Monday targeted a university and civilian homes in north-eastern Afghanistan, killing at least seven people. The Foreign Affairs ministry handed the diplomat a protest letter regarding the attacks. The attacks mark the first major violence since Chinese-mediated peace talks earlier this month.

Sonam Raghuvanshi, accused of murdering husband on honeymoon in Meghalaya, gets bail

Indore-based Sonam Raghuvanshi, who was accused of murdering her husband Raja Raghuvanshi with the help of her lover, has been granted bail by a Shillong court. The murder happened in May 2025. Raja's mutilated body was discovered on June 2. Apart from Sonam, her lover Raj Kushwaha, and three others were arrested in the case.

Employees urge Google to refuse classified AI deal with Pentagon

Over 600 Google employees have written a letter urging CEO Sundar Pichai to refuse a proposed deal with the Pentagon to deploy its AI systems in classified military operations. "Our proximity to this technology creates a responsibility to highlight and prevent its most unethical and dangerous uses," the letter said. Earlier, AI firm Anthropic refused Pentagon's demand for unrestricted access.

Ukraine attacks Russia's major oil refinery for the 3rd time in a month

A Ukrainian drone attack caused a massive fire at Tuapse oil refinery on Russia's Black Sea port on Tuesday. This is the third attack on the refinery in a month. The Rosneft-owned refinery is a key Russian export-oriented facility with annual production capacity of about 12 million metric tons. Visuals of the fire have surfaced online.

Google has signed a deal with the US' defence department allowing it to use the firm's AI for "any lawful government purpose", The Information reported. This comes months after the Pentagon blacklisted AI startup Anthropic and labelled it a "supply chain risk" after it refused unrestricted access. 2 CBI officials get 3-month jail for raiding IRS officer 26 yrs ago

A Delhi court sentenced two CBI officials to three months' imprisonment for conducting an illegal raid and arrest of IRS officer Ashok Kumar Aggarwal in 2000. Schools can't deny pre-primary admissions over eligibility dispute: SC
