China is the top steel-producing country, with 1,020 million tonnes of steel production, said a post by Market Mind. It is followed by India, with 140 million tonnes of steel production. Japan, USA and Russia also feature in the top 5. The other top steel-producing countries are South Korea, Germany, Turkey, Brazil and Iran, according to the post.

The Iranian regime has released a video showing how its Navy seized a Greek company-owned cargo ship that was bound for India's Mundra port. Iranian military personnel were seen approaching the ship on a small gunboat before physically boarding it and entering the navigational bridge. The Navy seized another Israel-linked ship on Wednesday, days after it attacked two Indian ships.

Another oil chokepoint hit by conflict as Somalia bans Israeli ships in Bab al-Mandeb

The rippling effects of the Middle East war have now spilt onto the world's fourth-largest oil chokepoint, the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, as Somalia banned Israeli ships' passage through it. Iran's Tasnim News Agency reported that Somalia did this in response to Israel's recognition of the separatist region of Somaliland. Israel's decision was condemned by the African Union, too.

11 killed in multi-vehicle collision in UP's Mirzapur

As many as 11 people, including children, were killed in a multi-vehicle collision in UP's Mirzapur. The collision, suspectedly triggered by brake failure in a truck, crushed a car between two trucks and hit another in a chain reaction. A Bolero car caught fire after the collision. The police said that efforts are on to establish identities of all victims.

Journalist killed in Israeli strike in Lebanon

Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon on Wednesday killed Lebanese journalist Amal Khalil and seriously injured a photographer with her. She had taken shelter in a house after an earlier airstrike near their vehicle. A second strike hit the same spot, killing her. Reportedly, she remained trapped under rubble for hours as the Israeli army continued firing in the area.

US intercepts 3 Iranian oil tankers in Asian waters

US military has intercepted at least three Iranian-flagged tankers in ‌Asian waters and is redirecting them away from their positions near India, Malaysia and Sri Lanka, shipping and security sources said.
