Delimitation to increase share of all states by 50%: Report amid southern states' opposition

India's unemployment rate jumps to 5-month high in March

India's overall unemployment rate among persons aged 15 and above rose to a five-month high of 5.1% in March, according to the latest government data. The increase was mainly driven by urban unemployment, which rose to 6.8% in March from 6.6% in February. The female unemployment rate stood at 5.3%, compared with 5% for men.

CBSE on Wednesday announced results of Class 10 board exams, with the overall pass percentage being 93.70%. Trivandrum and Vijaywada have the highest pass percentage of 99.79% in CBSE Class 10 exams. They are followed by Chennai (99.58%), Bengaluru (98.91%) and Delhi West (97.45%). Guwahati has the lowest pass percentage (85.32%), while Ranchi came second-last with 86.18% pass percentage.

Who has been more accurate in predicting monsoon in India, IMD or Skymet?

IMD and private forecaster Skymet Weather have predicted that monsoon rainfall in India this year is likely to be 92% and 94% of long period average (LPA), respectively. In past eight years, only Skymet accurately predicted rainfall in 2023 at 94%. In 2019, IMD and Skymet forecast seasonal rainfall at 96% and 93%, however, the actual rainfall stood at 110%.
