Hardik Pandya fined ₹12 lakh for slow over-rate in MI-RCB match

MI skipper Hardik Pandya has been penalised for maintaining slow over-rate in the IPL 2026 match against RCB. "As this was his team's first offence of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL's Code of Conduct, Hardik has been fined ₹12 lakh," IPL stated. RCB's innings took a little over two hours to finish.

US begins blockade of Strait of Hormuz, threatens to eliminate Iranian fast attack ships

US military has started the blockade of Iranian ports and coastal areas in Strait of Hormuz after US President Donald Trump’s announcement. Right after the deadline passed, Trump posted, “If any of the [Iranian] ‘fast attack’ ships come anywhere close to our blockade, they’ll be immediately eliminated.” The blockade will likely drive oil prices higher and jeopardise the two-week ceasefire.

UP govt forms high-level panel after protests by factory workers turn violent in Noida

The Uttar Pradesh government has formed a ‘high-level committee’ to resolve the dispute between factory workers and industries after protests in Noida turned violent on Monday.
The committee will look into reasons which led to the violence by workers, find those responsible for it and submit its recommendations to the government. The Industrial Development Commissioner is heading the committee.
