Over β‚Ή650 crore illegal cash, liquor & drugs seized ahead of polls

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has seized β‚Ή651.51 crore of illegal cash, liquor, drugs, precious metals and freebies from poll-bound West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry. The seized items include 29,63,689 litres of illicit alcohol worth β‚Ή79.3 crore and β‚Ή230 crore of drugs. A total of β‚Ή231 crore of freebies or other materials was also seized.

The US used two 'HH-60W Jolly Green II' recovery helicopters, two A-10 Thunderbolt II (Warthogs), and others to rescue its two pilots after Iran shot down one of the US fighter jets. 38 firms file draft IPO papers with SEBI in March

As many as 38 companies, including SBI Funds Management and Manipal Health Enterprises, filed preliminary IPO papers with SEBI in March 2026. India among nations recording maximum ship movement via blocked Strait of Hormuz
