LPG tanker BW TYR, which transited Hormuz, arrives in Mumbai

Indian-flagged LPG carrier BW TYR reached Mumbai after transiting Strait of Hormuz amid Middle East war. It is among the two LPG carriers that departed from Dubai's Ras Al Khaimah region last Friday. The second carrier, BW ELM, is expected to arrive at New Mangalore later on Wednesday. Both are carrying a combined cargo of about 94,000 tonnes of LPG.

Jet fuel prices more than double overnight in Delhi, commercial LPG gets costlier

The prices of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) have more than doubled overnight as they saw an over 114% increase in Delhi, rising from ₹96,638.14/kl to ₹2,07,341.22/kl. This is the first time ATF prices crossed the ₹2-lakh mark. Additionally, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder was also hiked by ₹195.5 to ₹2,078.5 in Delhi amid an LPG supply crisis.

A terrorist was killed in an overnight encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, the Army said on Wednesday. Toll plazas go cashless from today, FASTag annual pass to cost ₹75 more

Cash transactions at toll plazas across India have been discontinued from today (April 1), with commuters now required to pay via FASTag or UPI. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) said the move aims to make toll collection smoother, faster and more transparent. Further, the FASTag annual pass has been hiked by 2.5%, rising from ₹3,000 to ₹3,075.

Govt responds as jet fuel jumps by ₹1.1 lakh/kl, says 'Only ₹15,000/kl hike for domestic routes'

The government clarified after Indian Oil updated jet fuel prices on its website, marking a ₹1.10 lakh/kl jump to ₹2.07 lakh/kl. "To insulate domestic travel costs from substantial increase in international [oil] prices, PSU OMCs...passed only a partial...increase of 25% (₹15/litre or ₹15,000/kl) to airlines," the government said. Foreign routes will pay the full increase in ATF prices, it added.

Middle East war worse than 1970s oil crisis, 2022 gas dispute: IEA

The oil crisis following the Middle East conflict is far more severe than the oil shocks of the 1970s and the 2022 Russian gas disruption combined, said an International Energy Agency chief, Fatih Birol.
