Raj Kundra writes to BCCI seeking halt to Rajasthan Royals' sale approval

Ex-Rajasthan Royals (RR) owner Raj Kundra has written to BCCI, urging it to not approve RR's ₹15,300-crore sale. Kundra cited a pending dispute related to his 11.7% stake in the franchise, claiming the ownership structure remains under legal challenge and therefore any transfer of control shouldn't be cleared at this stage. Kal Somani-led consortium bought RR on Tuesday.

IPL 2026 full league stage schedule announced

The BCCI on Thursday announced the schedule for the second phase of IPL 2026, completing the full league stage fixtures. Matches in the second phase will be held in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, Dharamsala, Raipur and New Chandigarh. The venues for the payoffs will be announced at a later date, the BCCI said.

Govt grants free 1st class & AC rail travel to gallantry award winners

The central government has granted railway concessions, including complimentary lifelong free travel in First Class/ 2 AC / AC Chair Car to awardees of Sana/Nau Sena/Vayu Sena Medal gallantry awards, defence officials said. They added that each recipient may be accompanied by one person. For a posthumous recipient, their parents or spouse are eligible to avail the scheme.

Indian national killed in Iran's attack on UAE

An Indian national was killed by the falling debris of Iran's ballistic missile after it was intercepted by UAE's air defence systems in Abu Dhabi. "The incident resulted in the deaths of two individuals of Pakistani and Indian nationalities, and in injuries ranging from serious to moderate sustained by three individuals of Emirati, Jordanian and Indian nationalities," UAE authorities said.

2,300 kg drugs vanish from Guj Police custody, govt says it was eaten by rats

The Gujarat Police seized 6,510.54 kg of drugs between October 2022 and July 2023, out of which they destroyed 4,177.86 kg. The state government said 144.180 kg of ganja was stolen and remaining ganja and opium was allegedly consumed or destroyed by rats due to inadequate storage facilities. The CAG audit said state's theory doesn't justify scale of missing contraband.

Zimbabwe to tour India for bilateral series for 1st time in 25 yrs

16 US military aircraft destroyed since start of war
