Aditya Birla Group-led consortium buys RCB for ₹16,800 crore

A consortium of Aditya Birla Group, The Times of India Group, Bolt Ventures and private equity firm Blackstone has bought the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) franchise. The transaction is valued at $1.78 billion (around ₹16,800 crore). Earlier today, US-based entrepreneur Kal Somani-led consortium bought Rajasthan Royals for $1.63 billion (₹15,300 crore). RCB won IPL for first time in 2025.

Half of young Indian men get jobs in 1 yr of declaring unemployment: Report

Nearly half of Indian male youth, both 12th standard passouts (51.9%) and graduates (49%), found some employment within a year of declaring themselves unemployed, according to State of Working India 2026 report. However, among graduates, only 6.7% find permanent salaried employment, while this figure is 4% for 12th-standard passouts. Around 3.7% of graduates reported getting a white-collar job.

KKR retire number 12 jersey in tribute to Andre Russell

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have retired the number 12 jersey to honour their former all-rounder Andre Russell. Russell represented KKR in all seasons from 2014 to 2025, except 2017. Last November, Russell retired from IPL and took over as KKR's power coach. He scored 2,593 runs in 111 innings and took 122 wickets in IPL for KKR.
