The Supreme Court has said that a person who professes a religion other than Hinduism, Sikhism or Buddhism can not be a member of the Scheduled Caste. "Conversion to any other religion results in loss of Scheduled Caste status," SC said. A two-judge bench said a Dalit person who converted to Christianity cannot claim protection under the SC/ST Act.

Kal Somani-led consortium buys Rajasthan Royals for βΉ15,300 crore
A consortium led by US-based entrepreneur Kal Somani has bought IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals (RR) for $1.63 billion (around βΉ15,300 crore). Somani is the founder of IntraEdge, Truyo, Truyo.AI and Academian. The consortium also includes Walmart heir Rob Walton and the Hamp family. The franchise was previously majority-owned by Manoj Badale's Emerging Media Ventures with a 65% stake.
