Independent candidate and ex-Union Minister Dilip Ray, backed by the BJP, also secured the win. Ray's win reportedly involved cross-voting by several BJD and Congress MLAs. Sri Lanka announced a four-day workweek with Wednesdays as public holidays due to potential fuel shortages amid the Iran war. "It was decided to declare every Wednesday a public holiday with effect from March 18," PTI quoted Commissioner General of Essential Services Prabath Chandrakeerthi as saying. Chelsea were fined ₹131 crore (£10.75 million), the largest ever imposed by the Premier League, and given a one-year transfer ban suspended for two years for breaching league rules. Shivalik vessel to unload 20,000 MT of LPG at Mundra port, rest at Mangalore: Report

The LPG vessel Shivalik arrived at Gujarat's Mundra Port on Monday after crossing the Strait of Hormuz from Persian Gulf. It carried 46,000 metric tonnes of liquid LPG, of which 20,000 metric tonnes will be unloaded at Mundra. The remaining LPG will be unloaded at Mangalore. A PTI report said the shipment consists of LPG ordered by Indian Oil Corporation.

PhonePe postponed its IPO not only because of market volatility caused by Middle East war but also because of mismatch in valuation expectations, Moneycontrol reported. Domestic mutual fund houses suggested a valuation in mid to upper end of $6-9 billion, with recent suggestions of $7 billion. Sprinklers didn't work, late call made to fire brigade in Odisha hospital fire

A senior official, citing an eyewitness, said fire sprinkler system at Odisha's Cuttack hospital where 10 died after fire, didn't work as the tap (control valve) was closed. The official stated that the fire brigade, "located barely a few hundred metres from the site, received a call at 2:58 am, even though the fire broke out at around 2:35 am".

AI firms poaching researchers with up to ₹184-cr salary, Indians among top earners: Report

A paper by US National Bureau of Economic Research found that AI firms are increasingly poaching academic researchers, reportedly offering salaries of up to $20 million (₹184 crore). Top 1% of industry AI researchers earn $1.94 million (₹18 crore) on average, about $1.5 million (₹14 crore) more than their academic counterparts. Indians were also among the top-paid industry AI researchers.
