RBI mandates 100% secured credit facilities for broker funding
RBI on February 13 updated norms for how banks extend credit to stockbrokers and other capital market intermediaries. Under the revised directions, banks must provide credit to regulated stockbrokers only on a fully secured basis (i.e. 100% collateral) instead of current 50% collateral.
