A Delhi court has issued summons to Godfrey Phillips India (GPI) Chairperson Bina Modi, senior lawyer Lalit Bhasin and security officer Surendra Prasad in an assault case filed by her son and ex-GPI Executive Director Samir Modi. Samir alleged he was stopped from entering a board meeting and assaulted by Prasad. Police had filed a chargesheet on March 1, 2025.

Silver jewellery recorded the highest inflation at 159.67% in January 2026, according to data released as part of the new CPI series with base year 2024.
