Passengers of an Air Congo flight were forced to jump off the plane at Kindu airport after the airline failed to provide them stairs. The mysterious interstellar object, 3I/ATLAS, made its closest approach to Earth on December 19, about 270 million kilometres away. It reached perihelion on October 30 inside Mars' orbit. It is only the third ever confirmed interstellar object to enter our solar system. It was discovered on July 1 by Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System (ATLAS).
