Centre on Wednesday rolled back its order on compulsory pre-installation of the Sanchar Saathi app on all new mobile devices. "Given Sanchar Saathi's increasing acceptance, Government has decided not to make the pre- installation mandatory for mobile manufacturers," said a Ministry of Communications press release. Researchers have identified GRIN2A as the first-ever gene that can, on its own, cause a mental illness. The study, published in journal Molecular Psychiatry, statistically analysed 121 people whose GRIN2A gene was altered. "We were able to show that certain variants of this gene are associated not only with schizophrenia but also with other mental illnesses," the lead author said.
