FM rejects claim of govt forcing LIC to invest in Adani Group

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman rejected a Washington Post report claiming the Centre forced LIC to invest $3.9 billion in Adani Group. "Investment decisions of LIC are taken by LIC alone following...due diligence, risk assessment and fiduciary compliance," she said. "Finance Ministry doesn't issue any advisory to LIC in connection with matters related to investment of LIC fund," she added.

Over 2 lakh private companies in India shut down in just 5 years

Over 2 lakh private enterprises in India terminated operations between FY21 and FY25, according to data provided by Union Corporate Affairs Ministry. The firms closed as a result of conversion, merging, dissolution, or being struck off under the Companies Act of 2013. Delhi-Dehradun Expressway opens for trial run

The Delhi-Saharanpur-Dehradun Expressway opened for a trial run on Monday and is expected to reduce the Delhi-Dehradun travel time from 6-6.5 hours to just 2-2.5 hours after it becomes operational.
