Only numbers starting with '1600' to be used for promotional calls by banks, NBFCs: Govt

Telecom regulator TRAI mandated that all mutual funds companies, AMCs, banks, non-banking financial institutions and pension fund managers use numbers beginning with '1600' for calling customers. It has set January 1 as deadline for banks, February 1 for large NBFCs, March 1 for remaining NBFCs and rural banks and February 15 for AMCs. For stockbrokers, the deadline is March 15.

Headmaster, 3 teachers of Delhi school suspended after 16-yr-old's suicide

The headmaster and three teachers of Delhi's St Columba's School were suspended after a 16-year-old Class 10 student died by suicide and blamed teachers in a suicide note. Billionaire Peter Thiel, Facebook's first outside investor, sold his entire stake in Nvidia for $100 million (over โ‚น886 crore) during the July-September 2025 quarter, according to SEC filings. Why are some cheques signed on the back?

According to RBI regulations, a signature is necessary only on the backside of bearer cheques, News18 reported. Since they don't mention a payeeโ€™s name, the bank cannot confirm if the bearer of the cheque received it legitimately or stole it. Signing assures the bank that the cheque reached the rightful recipient, and they create an official record of the transaction.

US govt increases immigration and border fees

42 bomb-making videos shared by foreign handler with Red Fort blast-linked doctor

A foreign handler sent 42 bomb-making videos to Muzammil Ahmad Ganai, an Al Falah Medical College doctor who is accused in the Red Fort blast-linked terror module, via encrypted apps, investigators told The Indian Express.
