2 cloudbursts in Uttarakhand, families trapped under debris

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday said two cloudbursts were reported in Basukedar tehsil of Rudraprayag district and in the Dewal area of Chamoli district. Man who abused PM Modi, his late mother at Opposition rally in Bihar arrested

A man accused of abusing PM Narendra Modi and his late mother during a rally of I.N.D.I.A bloc in Bihar was arrested, Darbhanga Police said. Rupee hits lifetime low against US dollar amid Trump's tariffs

India's GDP grows by 7.8% in first quarter of FY 2025-26, beats estimates

India's real GDP has been estimated to grow by 7.8% in Q1 of FY 2025-26 over the growth rate of 6.5% during Q1 of FY 2024-25, said a press release. Nominal GDP has witnessed a growth rate of 8.8% in Q1 of FY 2025-26, data said. This has surpassed expectations as most analysts had pegged Q1 GDP growth at 6.5-7%.

Shingles vaccine may lower risk of heart attack and stroke: Study

A global systematic review and meta-analysis has found that herpes zoster vaccine, used to prevent shingles, significantly lowers cardiovascular risk. The vaccine was linked to 18% reduction in heart attack and stroke risk in adults aged 18 and older, and 16% in those over 50. Findings of the research will be presented at European Society of Cardiology Congress in Madrid.

Gold jumps ₹2,100 per 10 grams, hits new all-time high

Gold prices have jumped ₹2,100 to reach a fresh all-time high of ₹1,03,670 per 10 grams in Delhi on Friday, according to the All India Sarafa Association. The yellow metal of 99.9% purity had closed at ₹1,01,570 per 10 grams on Thursday. Meanwhile, silver prices declined ₹1,000 to reach ₹1,19,000 per kg on Friday.
