'We lost planes in Op Sindoor due to political leadership' says Indian envoy, govt clarifies

Defence attache to Indian Embassy in Indonesia, Captain Shiv Kumar, said he doesn't agree India lost "so many aircraft" but agrees that it lost "some aircraft" during Operation Sindoor. He said India lost aircraft "only because of political leadership's constraint to not attack Pak military establishments". The embassy issued a clarification, saying Kumar's remarks were "quoted out of context".

New method to extract gold from old phones, laptops developed

Scientists at Flinders University, Australia, have developed a safer, more sustainable way to extract gold from ore and e-waste like old phones and laptops. Indians abroad sent home record $135 bn in remittances in 2024-25

The Indian diaspora sent home over $135 billion (over β‚Ή11 lakh crore) in the last fiscal year (2024-25), marking the highest remittances on record. Gross inward remittances by overseas Indians, as reflected in private transfers, were 14% higher from the previous year. The remittance inflows have more than doubled in eight years, as compared to $61 billion in 2016-17.
