Greenland's ice sheet melted 17 times faster than average during May heatwave, according to a report released by World Weather Attribution (WWA). The data from May 15-21 heatwave was compared to average ice melt for the same week during the period 1980-2010. In eastern Greenland, the hottest day during the heatwave was about 3.9Β°C warmer compared to the preindustrial climate.

All accused in Meghalaya murder case sent to 8-day police custody

A Meghalaya court has remanded Sonam Raghuvanshi, Raj Kushwaha, and three others accused of Raja Raghuvanshi's murder to eight-day police custody, said SIT chief and SP (City) East Khasi Hills, Herbert Pyniaid Kharkongor. First-ever photo of Sun's south pole released

The first-ever photograph of Sun's south pole captured by European Space Agency's Solar Orbiter spacecraft has been released. The photograph was taken between March 16 and 17 with Solar Orbiter's Polarimetric and Helioseismic Imager (PHI), Extreme Ultraviolet Imager (EUI), and Spectral Imaging of Coronal Environment (SPICE) instruments. As per new Tatkal ticket booking rules for non-Aadhaar users, Tatkal bookings at PRS counters/authorised agents (YTSK) will require OTP verification sent to booking person's mobile from July 15. Only Aadhaar-authenticated users will be able to book tickets under the Tatkal scheme from July 1, the Railway Ministry has stated.
