Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah "strongly" condemned an SBI manager who was seen arguing with a customer demanding she speak in Kannada at a branch in Bengaluru in a video. Adding that her behaviour showed "disregard to citizens", he said, "We appreciate SBI's swift action in transferring the official." He also urged Finance Ministry to mandate language sensitisation training for bank staff.

Cab drivers to be fined if they cancel rides in Maharashtra

The Maharashtra cabinet recently approved the Aggregator Cabs Policy, introducing guidelines for fare structures, ride cancellations, carpooling, and driver safety standards across the state. Under the policy, if a driver cancels a confirmed ride, they will be penalised 10% of the fare or ₹100 (whichever is less). This will be credited to the passenger's app wallet.

Fish species rediscovered in Arunachal after over 100 years

A fish species, Moringua hodgarti, has been rediscovered by Indian researchers after over 100 years in Arunachal Pradesh's Siang Valley, according to an article published in the peer-reviewed journal Zootaxa. The species was first collected during the Abor Expedition in 1911-1912. This species, measuring around 177 mm to 211 mm, is "known only from" the state's Siang Valley, researchers said.

Several drone-like objects spotted over Kolkata

Around 8-10 drone-like objects were spotted flying over Kolkata's Hastings area, Vidyasagar Setu and Fort William on Monday night. Nobody has right over govt land, even under waqf by user: Centre
