Some important facts:

* If the question is "How is A related to B". Then you must know the gender of A to answer the question.

* Without knowing A's gender, you cannot determine the relation from A to B

* If a person is Uncle or Aunt to "A", A is that person's nephew (if A is Male) or niece (if A is female).

* Cousin is a common Gender (I mean, you can use this word for both Male and Female).

Example.1. A says to B, "you are the son of my grandfather’s only son".

(1) How is B related to A?

(2) How is A related to B?

Solution: 

B is Brother of A.

My grand father's only son = A's father (grand father's only son means only ONE son. No other son and no daughter also).

A is either brother or sister to B.

A and B are siblings. B is brother to A as we know the Gender of B. But we don’t know the Gender of A. So we can’t say whether A is Brother or Sister to B.


Example.2. Pointing to a boy Rekha said, "He is the son of my mother-in-law's only Child". How is the boy related to Rekha?

Solution:

My mother-in-law's only child = Rekha's mother-in-law's only child = Rekha's husband.

The boy is the son of the Rekha's Husband. So obviously Rekha is the mother to that boy and that boy is the Son of Rekha.


Example.3. The mother of Ranbir is the only daughter of Neetu’s father. How Neetu is related to Ranbir?

Solution:

Only daughter of Neetu's father  = Neetu only. The mother of Ranbir is Neetu, so Neetu is the mother of Ranbir


Example.4.  B is the husband of C. A is the sister of B. D is the sister of C. How is D related to B?

Solution:  

B is Husband and C is his Wife.

A is the sister of B, so A is the Sister-in-Law of C ( Husband's sister).

D is the sister of C so, D is the Sister-in-Law of B (Wife's Sister).


Example.5. Amit is the son of Ajit's grandfather’s only daughter. How is Ajit's father related to Amit?

Solution:

Ajit's grand father's only daughter means Ajit's mother. Amit is the son of Ajit's mother. So, Amit and Ajit are Siblings. Ajit's father is Amith's father too


Example.6.  Pointing towards a girl, a Person said, "She is the only daughter of the only son of the wife of the father-in-law of my wife". How is the girl related to the Person?

Solution: 

Father-in-Law of my wife = Father in Law of the Person's Wife = Person's Father

Wife of the Father-in-law of my wife = Wife of the Person's Father = Person's Mother.

Only son of Person's Mother = That Person only (because Person's parents don’t have any other child)

বিভাজ্যতা বলতে বুঝায় একটি সংখ্যা অপর একটি সংখ্যা দ্বারা নিঃশেষে বিভাজ্য কি না। একটু সহজভাবে বলা যায়, একটি সংখ্যাকে যদি অপর একটি সংখ্যা ভাগ করলে ভাগশেষ শূন্য হয়, তবে প্রথম সংখ্যাটি দ্বিতীয় সংখ্যা দ্বারা নিঃশেষে বিভাজ্য।

১ এর বিভাজ্যতাঃ- যে কোন সংখ্যাই ১ দিয়ে বিভাজ্য।

২ দ্বারা বিভাজ্যতাঃ

আমরা সবাই জানি যে কোনো জোড় সংখ্যাই ২ দ্বারা বিভাজ্য। অর্থাৎ যে সব সংখ্যা জোড়( ২, ৪, ৬, ৮, ১০, ১২, ...... ) তারাই ২ দিয়ে বিভাজ্য। আরও সহজভাবে বলা যায়, যে সব সংখ্যার শেষ অংক( ২, ৪, ৬, ৮, ০ ) তারাই ২ দ্বারা বিভাজ্য।
যেমনঃ ৫৬৪৮, ৪৫৫৬, ৫৬২৩৫১২ ইত্যাদি।

৩ দ্বারা বিভাজ্যতাঃ

কোন সংখ্যার অঙ্কগুলোর যোগফল যদি ৩ দ্বারা বিভাজ্য হয় তাহলে সংখ্যাটিও ৩ দ্বারা বিভাজ্য হবে।
যেমন ১৪১ এর ক্ষেত্রে ১+৪+১=৬, যা ৩ দ্বারা বিভাজ্য। তাই ১৪১ সংখ্যাটি ৩ দ্বারা বিভাজ্য। কিন্তু যেমন ধরুণ ২৩৮ এর ক্ষেত্রে ২+৩+৮=১৩, যা ৩ দ্বারা বিভাজ্য নয়, সুতরাং ২৩৮ তিন দ্বারা অবিভাজ্য।
অঙ্কগুলোর যোগফল বেশি বড় হয়ে গেলে (যদি যোগফল দেখে একবারে বোঝা না যায়) যোগফলের জন্যই আবার নিয়মটি প্রয়োগ করুন।
ধরে নিলাম যোগফল আবার অনেক বড় সংখ্যা হল। তখন যোগফলের অংক গুলো যোগ করে আবার দেখলে পাওয়া যাবে তা ৩ দিয়ে বিভাজ্য কি না। সহজ একটি উদাহরন দেয়া যাক। ১৭৬০৭৯৩৭৬২৭৫ সংখ্যাটির অংক গুলোর যোগফল হচ্ছে ৬০। এখন ৬০ এর অংকগুলোর যোগফল(০+৬)= ৬, -- যা ৩ দিয়ে বিভাজ্য। সুতরাং ১৭৬০৭৯৩৭৬২৭৫ সংখ্যাটি ৩ দ্বারা বিভাজ্য। এরকম আরো অনেক উদাহরন করলে দেখা যাবে কাজটি অনেক সহজ।যেমনঃ ২০৮৭১১২, ৫৯২৩৮ ইত্যাদি।

৪ দ্বারা বিভাজ্যতাঃ

একটি সংখ্যা ৪ দিয়ে বিভাজ্য কি না তা দেখতে হলে সংখ্যাটির শেষ ২ টা অংক ৪ দিয়ে বিভাজ্য কি না তা চেক করতে হবে।অর্থাৎ কোন সংখ্যার দশক ও এককের ঘরের অঙ্ক নিয়ে গঠিত সংখ্যা ৪ দিয়ে বিভাজ্য হলে সংখ্যাটিও ৪ দ্বারা বিভাজ্য হবে।
যেমন ১১৬ এর ক্ষেত্রে ১৬, যা ৪ দিয়ে বিভাজ্য, তাই ১১৬ ও ৪ দিয়ে বিভাজ্য। আবার ৫৬০ এর ৬০ যেহেতু ৪ দিয়ে বিভাজ্য, তাই ৫৬০ ও বিভাজ্য।

৫ দ্বারা বিভাজ্যতাঃ

এটাও আমরা সবাই ভালো করেই জানি এবং কাজে লাগাই। সংখ্যার এককের ঘরের অঙ্ক ০ বা ৫ হলে সেই সংখ্যা ৫ দ্বারা বিভাজ্য। যেমন, ১০৫, ৩০৬০, ৯৬৫ ইত্যাদি।

৬ দ্বারা বিভাজ্যতাঃ

৬ সংখ্যাটি ২ এবং ৩ এর গুণফল। তাই যে সংখ্যা ২ ও ৩ উভয় সংখ্যা দ্বারা বিভাজ্য হবে, সেটাই ৬ দ্বারা বিভাজ্য হবে। আরো সহজ করে বললে, সংখ্যাটি হবে জোড় এবং অঙ্কগুলোর যোগফল তিন দ্বারা বিভাজ্য হবে। জোড় না হলেই বাদ! জোড় হলেই শুধু তিন এর পরীক্ষা -ব্যাস!
অর্থাৎ ২ ও ৩ এর বিভাজ্যতা চেক করতে হবে। অর্থাৎ সংখ্যাটি যদি জোড় হয় এবং সংখ্যাটি যদি ৩ দ্বারা বিভাজ্য হয় তবেই সংখ্যাটি ৬ দ্বারা বিভাজ্য।
যেমন, ১২০ একটি জোড় সংখ্য এবং তিন দ্বারা বিভাজ্য (কারণ ১+২+০=৩), তাই ১২০ ছয় দ্বারা বিভাজ্য। একইভাবে, ৭৮০ জোড় সংখ্যা এবং ৭+৮+০=১৫, যা ৩ দ্বারা বিভাজ্য, তাই ৭৮০, ছয় দ্বারা বিভাজ্য।

৭ দ্বারা বিভাজ্যতাঃ

এককের অঙ্ককে বর্গ করে সংখ্যাটির বাকী অংশ থেকে বিয়োগ দিন। ভাগফল ৭ দ্বারা ভাগযোগ্য হলেই কেল্লাফতে!!!
যেমন, ৬৭২ হলে ৬৭-৪=৬৩। সুতরাং ৬৩/৭ =৯। ইউরেকা! সংখ্যাটি বড় হলে একই প্রক্রিয়ার পুনরাবৃত্তি করা যাবে।
যেমন, ৪৫১৭৮ হলে ৪৫১৭-৬৪=৪৪৫৩। আবার ৪৪৫-৯ = ৪৩৬, পুনরায় ৪৩-৩৬ = ৭ যা কাঙ্খিত। তাই কেল্লাফতে!!!
অথবাঃ
সংখ্যাটির প্রতিটি অংকের ক্ষেত্রে ভাগশেষের সাথে ৩ গুন করে প্রতিটি অংকের সাথে যোগ করে যোগফলকে ৭ দিয়ে ভাগ করে ভাগশেষ নির্নয় করতে হবে। সর্বশেষ ভাগশেষ যদি ০ হয় তবেই সংখ্যাটি ৭ দিয়ে বিভাজ্য।

৮ দ্বারা বিভাজ্যতাঃ

কোন সংখ্যার সর্বশেষ তিন অঙ্কের সমন্বয়, মানে শতক, দশক ও এককের অঙ্কের সমন্বয় যদি ৮ দ্বারা বিভাজ্য হয়, তাহলে ঐ সংখ্যাটি ৮ দ্বারা বিভাজ্য হয়।
অর্থাৎ
কোন সংখ্যা যদি ৩ বা তার চেয়ে বেশি অংক বিশিষ্ট হয় তবে ৮ দিয়ে বিভাজ্যতা চেক করতে শুধুমাত্র শেষ ৩ অংক চেক করতে হবে তা ৮ দিয়ে বিভাজ্য কি না। যদি শেষ ৩ অংক ৮ দিয়ে বিভাজ্য হয় তবেই সংখ্যাটি ৮ দিয়ে বিভাজ্য।
যেমন ৯৬৪০ আট দ্বারা বিভাজ্য কারণ ৬৪০/৮=৮০। তবে এ প্রক্রিয়া ঝামেলাপূর্ণ মনে হতে পারে। কিন্তু ,মনে করুন আপনার কাছে আছে একটি বিশাল সংখ্যা -20,233,322,496। এখন 496 কেই 8 দ্বারা ভাগ দিলেই আপনি বুঝে ফেলবেন রহস্য!

৯ দ্বারা বিভাজ্যতাঃ

তিন এর নিয়মের মতোই অঙ্কগুলোর যোগফল ৯ দ্বারা বিভাজ্য হতে হবে।
যেমন ৭২১৮ এর জন্য ৭+২+১+৮=১৮ যা ৯ দিয়ে ভাগযোগ্য। 10,006,470 এর জন্য ১+৬+৪+৭=১৮, ফলে এটি ৯ দ্বারা বিভাজ্য হতে বাধ্য।

১১ এর পরীক্ষায় পাস করতে হলে সংখ্যাটির একটার পর একটা পর্যায়ক্রমিক সংখ্যার যোগফল ও বাকী সংখ্যাগুলোর যোগফলের পার্থক্য ১১ দ্বারা বিভাজ্য হতে হবে। অস্পষ্ট লাগলে উদাহরণে পরিষ্কার হয়ে যাবে।
যেমন ১০৮২৪ এর জন্যে (১+৮+৪)-(০+২)= ১৩-২=১১। ফলে, ১০,৮২৪ এগার দিয়ে বিভাজ্য।
একইভাবে- ২৫, ৭৮৪ এর ক্ষেত্রে- (২+৭+৪) - ( ৫+৮)=১৩-১৩=০ । আর ০ ও তো ১১ দিয়ে ভাগ যায় (০ বার!!!)।
