Damping off is caused by a fungus or mold that thrive in cool, wet conditions and is common in young seedlings. It can cause roots to rot, and can affect a wide variety of vegetables and flowers.

Some tips to prevent this from happening:
πŸ’š Sterilize all used pots
πŸ’š Use new potting mix and don’t reuse old mix or garden soil/compost
πŸ’š Make sure you are working with clean tools
πŸ’š Use pots with good drainage so your soil remains moist and not too wet

Kale pairs well with: Artichokes, beets, celery, cucumbers, lettuce, onions, peas, potatoes, spinach, rosemary, thyme, mint, basil, dill, cilantro, coriander, chard, hot peppers, lemongrass, chives, garlic, leeks, marigold, and alyssum.

Plants that you want to avoid planting with kale are: Strawberries, beans, walnuts, tomatoes, and sunflowers.
