VIJAYANAGAR SCHOOL :
🔸The rulers of the Vijayanagara Empire (1335-1565 AD) were great patrons of art and architecture with capital at Hampi (Karnataka). They combined the features of Chola,Hoysalas, Pandyas, Chalukyas architectural styles.
🔸Under them, the architectural style began getting influenced by the Indo-
Islamic style of Bijapur, which in turn was reflected in the temples built
during this period.
The features of the temples were:
🔸The walls of the temples were highly decorated with carvings and
geometrical patterns.
🔸Goupurams, which were previously present on the front side, were now
built on all the sides. Monolithic rock pillars.

🛡GUPTA COINS🛡
Numismatics
🛡The imperial Gupta kings issued well-executed die-struck gold coins with metrical legends in Sanskrit.
🛡Known as dinaras, these coins have been mostly found in north India.
🛡The obverse depicts the reigning king in various poses, usually martial ones, but there are interesting instances of coins of Samudragupta and Kumaragupta I showing them playing the vina (a stringed instrument).
🛡The reverse of the Gupta coins have religious symbols indicating the kings’ religious affiliations.
🛡 There was a decline in the metallic purity of gold coins in the later part of
Skandagupta’s reign.
🛡The Guptas also issued silver coins, but their copper coins are rare.

"PM Gati Shakti"
launched on 13th Oct. 2021
Salient features discussed below:
1) It is the National Master Plan for infrastructure development and multi-modal connectivity (i.e. connecting various modes of transport like road, rail, airways, shipping etc.) which will herald a new chapter in governance.
2) Gati Shakti — a digital platform — will bring 16 Ministries including Railways and Roadways together for integrated planning and coordinated implementation and execution of infrastructure connectivity projects.
3) It will incorporate the infrastructure schemes of various Ministries and State Governments like Bharatmala, Sagarmala, inland waterways, dry/land ports, UDAN etc. Economic Zones like textile clusters, pharmaceutical clusters, defence corridors, electronic parks, industrial corridors, fishing clusters, agri zones will be covered to improve connectivity & make Indian businesses more competitive. It will also leverage technology extensively including spatial planning tools with ISRO imagery to generate real time dashboard.
4) Due to the wide gap between macro planning and micro implementation problems of lack of coordination, lack of advance information, thinking and working in silos has led to hampered construction and wastage of budget. Gati Shakti will address this as working on the basis of the master plan will lead to optimum utilisation of resources.
5) The logistics cost in India is presently 13% of GDP which is quite has as compared to around 8% in developed countries. This has hurt India's competitiveness in exports. The Gati-Shakti plan will bring down the logistics costs.
6) Just as JAM (Jan Dhan, Aadhar, Mobile) trinity revolutionized the access of government facilities to the people , PM Gati Shakti will do the same for the field of Infrastructure
7) The Gati Shakti plan will complement the already launched National Infrastructure Pipeline
So, Gati Shakti is more of giving impetus to infrastructure development through coordination between different ministries, different infrastructure projects, improved governance, real time monitoring of various projects, timely execution etc.

The total fertility rate (TFR) in a specific year is defined as the total number of children that would be born to each woman if she were to live to the end of her child-bearing years.
Replacement level fertility is the level of fertility at which a population exactly replaces itself from one generation to the next.
Ideally it should be 2.0 but generally it is 2.1 all over the world as we cannot expect all the female children will survive till the child bearing ages.
But the required replacement level fertility for India is higher than the usual benchmark of 2.1. The reason is the skewed sex ratio, because of which a woman would have to give birth to more than 2.1 children in order for the population to replace itself.
Estimates suggest that the effective replacement level fertility after taking into account the skewed sex ratio could be around 2.15 to 2.2 for India with a sex ratio of 1.11
As per the latest National Family Health Survey released, fertility rate has fallen below the replacement level fertility but there will be positive population growth in the next two decades due to,
(a) Population momentum (which means there are more people entering the reproductive age group of 15 to 49 due to the past high level of fertility. If the number of people in the entire age category is uniform then we will not see population momentum effect), and
(b) Continued rise in life expectancy.
