The street food market was noisy. Jimmy's Diaz and IU's Diaz moved past the grills and the stalls of vendors, picking up some skewers and crispy fritters while avoiding the crowd that came in the evening. "Have this one," Jimmy said, and gave IU a spring roll but she almost dropped it while laughing, still having food in her mouth.
At the ice cream stall by the corner IU didn't decide on a flavour. "Take both," Jimmy said to her "I'll have whichever you don't finish." then they sat down on a bench and passed the spoonfuls back and forth as the street lights switched on.
They were happy and full, and walked towards the mall, drawn by its warm light in contrast to the cool night. At the toy shop, IU stopped in front of a display of Legos and smiled shyly as she said that she had used to build sets when she was a child. Jimmy said nothing, instead Jimmy took IU's hand and guided her inside. "Take whatever you like," Jimmy said to IU. IU chose the big flowers set that she had been looking at. Jimmy then took their bags to the car, switched on the engine, and the night slowly faded away around them.
