today’s agenda: catching up after a tight schedule! after days that felt too full, nty Xiaoting finally spent time with Wheils’ Huang Yi! since it had been a while, we wandered around without any real plan, letting our steps lead us while we talked endlessly about everything and also nothing but small updates, random thoughts, and quiet laughter filling the spaces between. Time felt softer somehow, until the tiredness and hunger finally caught up to us. “I’m famished.. can’t we sit and drink and.. talk instead?” Huang Yi said, and I agreed, so we stepped into a small café we found down the street and ordered our favorite drinks, settling into a kind of comfort that made everything else fade away. We kept talking, unhurried and at ease, until hours slipped by without us noticing, and before we knew it, dawn had quietly arrived, leaving us there slightly tired, but warm and happy just to be together again.

Today, the 2009 of Runeshard went to an amusement park. Seonghyeon tried to act like the responsible older brother, holding the map and planning the “perfect route,” but Keonho kept dragging everyone to the most extreme rides. Nahyun filmed everything for “memories”, and Ian was the mastermind behind every snack stop.

They started with the tallest roller coaster. Seonghyeon yelling “last one to scream buys dinner!” right before the drop. Keonho absolutely lost. Nahyun’s laugh echoed louder than the ride itself, and Ian just threw her hands up. Between bumper cars battles (Keonho vs. everyone), arcade games they took way too seriously, and sharing melting ice cream under the shade.

In a house, more precisely the Runeshard family was loud that night. Everyone busy with their own things, voices overlapping, plates clinking, the TV talking to itself in the background. It felt full, but somehow I still wanted a little escape. So I–Sunghoon, looked at my twins–Ningning, gave them that look, and she already knew.

The air outside felt different. Street lights painted everything in soft gold. We didn’t really have a plan, just walking, side by side. There were moments when we’d just stop and talk. Random things. Silly things that somehow only come out at night. At some point we sat down somewhere simple, maybe on a curb or a small bench, sharing snacks and tell stories.
