Seven Seats, Sugar on the Side. ☕🥐

to break up an otherwise ordinary tuesday, Cherrilane's Jaehyun and Romanovna's Yoonseo decided to pull everyone together for an afternoon of pastries and coffee. Yoonseo brought Berthouven's Giselle and Nicheford's Jeno, while i asked Bosche's Linghe, Cherrilane's Taesan, and Hjerts's Seonghyeon to come along. no proper itinerary, just seven people, a cafe, and whatever caught our eye behind the pastry counter. i settled outside with my coffee first, sunglasses still on, taking my time between sips. Linghe, meanwhile, seemed to have a very clear agenda: find something sweet and eat it before anyone could ask for a bite. he ended up with a donut in hand, looking entirely too pleased with himself. Taesan went in a completely different direction, digging into a bowl of chocolate cereal like he'd discovered the best thing on the menu. Seonghyeon was busy showing off his dessert to the camera, holding it so close that the whole thing turned into one giant blur.

“you're making it impossible to see,” i told him. “it's still pretty,” he said.

Yoonseo somehow found herself underneath an enormous pastry for a photo, crouching beneath it like she'd wandered into the wrong bakery advertisement. Jeno had a full plate of donuts and a whipped drink in his hands, looking like he'd ordered enough for twice our number. Giselle sat comfortably with her iced coffee, quietly taking in the chaos around the table. somewhere between Linghe stealing bites, Taesan finishing his chocolate snack, and Jeno guarding his donuts, the afternoon slipped into that familiar kind of mess. drinks sweating on the table, crumbs everywhere, pastries being passed from hand to hand. Yoonseo called it a “quick cafe break.” clearly, none of us understood what quick meant.

by the time we were ready to leave, everyone had eaten something different, but somehow nobody had gone home empty-handed—or empty-stomached. just a slow tuesday, a little caffeine, too much sugar, and the kind of company that makes staying one more hour feel like the obvious choice.
