After the Geldart Open House finally ended and the guests had gone home, the house didn’t exactly get quieter, it just turned into a different kind of chaos. Somehow everyone decided the night wasn’t over yet, so the family split themselves into random “teams.” There was a cooking team making big portions in the kitchen, a table setting team trying to make everything look nice, and of course the most dedicated group: the eating team, who had already started snacking before the food was even ready. “Hey, that’s for everyone!” cece(s) and adek(s) called from the kitchen. “Relax, we’re just testing it,” the boys answer came with the very unconvincing reply.

Food kept appearing on the table, snacks, warm dishes, drinks, but somehow it still wasn’t enough. Louis, the youngest suddenly flopped dramatically onto the couch and sighed, “I’m still hungry.” A few groans and laughs filled the room. “You can’t be serious,” Nong Pharita said. But Gege Kangle, Bang Jay, and Bang Sion the eldest, just shook their head with a small smile. “Let’s just go out and get more food before they start sulking.” Gege said. The youngest immediately sat up. “See? Gege understands me!”

So the night ended with another little adventure outside, coming home with boxes of sushi and way too many tubs of ice cream in different flavors. Everyone gathered in the living room again, sitting wherever they could while passing food around. “Who bought this many ice creams?” Ko Jake laughed, make sure his wallet safe. “Just in case the youngest is still hungry,” Dek Yujin teased. “Hey! I heard that!” And just like that, the Geldart house filled with laughter again, the perfect, messy ending to a very long celebration.
