Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, on the 19th appointed Seonghwa (real name Park Seonghwa), a member of the global K-pop group ATEEZ, as its promotional ambassador at an event held at the Jinju Silk Museum.

The promotion ambassadorship was based on Seonghwa's involvement in Jinju, having spent his school years in Jinju and his active global activities. The promotion ambassador aims to promote the city's cultural attractions and enhance Jinju's brand value. Seonghwa, the promotional ambassador, graduated from elementary, middle, and high school in Jinju and debuted with ATEEZ in 2018. ATEEZ has recently been actively promoting their album and has achieved high popularity both domestically and internationally.

Mayor Cho Gyu-il stated, "It is a great honor for us to be able to work with Seonghwa, who has received widespread love both domestically and internationally, as the Jinju City Promotion Ambassador." He added, “Seonghwa’s bright energy and distinctive creative sensibility will be a powerful force in introducing Jinju City’s cultural attractions and history, as well as regional specialty products such as Jinju silk, to the national and international stage.”
