The morning started with a simple, “Bubur bentar yuk,” but somehow, Norvein’s Heeseung and Shien’s Jake found themselves lingering at the roadside stall long after the bowls were empty. The early sun was just starting to hit the pavement, and the world was beginning to wake up around them, but the two of them were in no rush. They sat on the plastic stools, surrounded by the smell of savory broth and the sound of distant traffic, diving into the most random topics imaginable. One minute they were laughing loudly over a stupid meme, and the next, they’d fall into a comfortable silence, just scrolling through their phones or watching people rush to work. There was no real plan, just the effortless vibe of a slow morning and the quiet realization that they weren’t ready to head back yet. Just two guys, a couple of half-empty bowls, and a conversation that felt like it could go on until noon.
