Afternoon, Bellies! To welcome Wednesday, Bellinors' Woonhak and Merfyn's Leehan went out to spend some free time. We tried to create some masterpiece with clay. First, we have to prepare the clay. We knead it with our hands, folding and pressing it over and over. Then comes the wheel. We place the clay in the center of the spinning wheel and wet our hands so they glide easily. At first, the clay wobbles and fights us, but slowly with gentle pressure, we center it. As the wheel spins, our fingers guide the shape like steering a tiny planet. When the piece is finished, we cut it from the wheel with a thin wire and leave it to dry until it feels firm like leather. After it dried, we paint it with glaze, a special liquid that melts during a second firing and turns colorfully shiny. I drew a little snowman and He drew a line around the plate with His fish sign.
