Prayagraj-based BTech graduate Vikas Singh has been arrested for allegedly operating Telegram channels distributing obscene content, police said. Investigators claim he started the activity in 2020 and earned nearly ₹2.5 crore through subscription-based access, charging ₹350 for monthly plans, ₹450 for quarterly plans and ₹600 for half-yearly access to private channels. Police said more than 10,000 obscene videos and photos were recovered from his devices, while the channels allegedly had around 7,000 subscribers, most of them minors. The case came to light after a minor filed a complaint alleging that an AI-generated obscene video using his face had been uploaded on Telegram, triggering a wider cyber investigation.
