Lorena’s Meurnott was waiting for Yihani’s Meurnott to finish showing her the assignment when Yihani suddenly shoved the paper in front of her face with the biggest grin. “Auntie, look! I got my grade!” Lorena glanced at it, expecting the usual mess, then froze when she saw the perfect score at the top. “WAIT—YOU GOT A HUNDRED?!” Yihani nodded proudly. “Told you the monkey was lucky.” Lorena immediately looked at the ridiculous monkey doodle underneath. “So you’re telling me I spent ten minutes lecturing you about this ugly monkey… and HE was the reason you got a perfect score?” “Exactly. You owe him an apology.”

Lorena burst out laughing and pulled Yihani into a playful headlock. “Fine! I’m sorry, Mr. Monkey. Apparently you’re the academic weapon of this family.” Yihani struggled between laughs. “Auntie, let me go!” “Not until you admit I was right to doubt you.” “NEVER!” They both ended up laughing, with Yihani proudly keeping her perfect-score paper safe while Lorena shook her head. “Next time, just draw another monkey. Clearly, it works.” “See? You finally believe in my methods.”
