Pigments, once inert upon the palette, were transfigured into mnemonic relics; vermilion murmured beside umber, whilst pallid aureoles dissolved into an oneiric chiaroscuro. Nothing upon the canvas appeared entirely accidental—every contour, abrasion, and tincture seemed to preserve some clandestine correspondence between the painter’s hand and the recesses of the subconscious.

Familiar silhouettes become estranged beneath impossible perspectives, botanical forms bloom where architecture ought to stand, and figures appear suspended within a chronology of their own devising. The curator may catalogue their provenance, yet no inventory could sufficiently account for the peculiar alchemy by which these compositions acquire their sentience.
