Maelys had liked Sean long before Ilysha ever came into the picture. For years, she kept her feelings to herself, hoping that one day Sean might finally see her the way she saw him.
When she finally got the chance, Sean accepted her.
For a while, Maelys thought she had finally gotten what she wanted.
But Sean kept playing with her feelings. One day, he would pull her close and make her feel loved. The next, he would become distant and act like she meant nothing. Whenever Maelys tried to leave, Sean would come back, only to push her away again once he knew she was staying.

Sean had no answer.
Maelys smiled sadly. βI wanted you for so long, Sean. But I donβt want to keep wanting someone who only loves me when itβs convenient.β
