Off to Spain from LAX International, and it feels like life has come full circle! Born and raised in Madrid, but now calling California home, I guess it’s time to test if my Spanish roots still run deep (or if I’ve accidentally become too Californian to handle the jet lag). Flying into Barcelona this time—it’s not Madrid, but close enough to call it a happy reunion. Can’t wait for this special trip; something wonderful is on the horizon!

Arrived at the beautiful Hotel Delfín in Tossa de Mar, where my parents, of course, ensured I got the best room with a view that feels like pure poetry. From the balcony, it’s all blue skies and sparkling Mediterranean waves—a scene too perfect to rush. They welcomed me with a crisp glass of white wine, and now it’s just me, my tea, and a quiet, late lunch while the sea breeze whispers secrets only Spain can tell.

Dinner at Papito’s house always feels like such a warm embrace, and tonight was no different. The table was a feast of pastas and pizzas, each dish crafted with love and care. I savored every single bite, but the highlight was undoubtedly Papito’s special rotini pasta—perfectly seasoned and bursting with flavor, it felt like a hug in every forkful. The room buzzed with conversation, laughter, and the kind of comfort only family can bring. I spent most of the evening chatting with Florence, who sat across from me; our easy banter made the night even more special.
