The night was draped in elegance as I stepped onto the carpet at Sitges. Thereโs a sense of anticipation in the air, the kind that lingers just before something magical begins. The festival celebrates everything that exists on the edge of realityโfantasy, horror, the beautiful unknown. As the cameras flashed, I could feel all of the excitement ripple through the crowd, like we were all part of something greater. Each turn, each pose felt like a silent tribute to the stories that brought me here. I wasnโt just walking a red carpet, I was embracing the legacy of fantastic cinema, and every step I took felt connected to that deeper.

In these moments, captured forever by the camera, it feels like time stands still. The night air of Sitges is crisp, carrying the echoes of the sea and the whispers of a thousand stories told beneath the stars. The photographers click away, freezing this moment where the fantasy and the real blend effortlessly. I stand there, knowing these images will be tied not just to me, but to this festival, this celebration of pretty much everything extraordinary. Each frame, each shot, holds the magic of a night thatโs not just about appearances, but about honoring the strange beauty that the Sitges Film Festival holds close to its heart. These photographs, like pieces of art, will always remind me of this night where I stood among dreamers and storytellers.

Malena and I, together on the red carpetโthereโs something special about sharing this moment with someone who indeed understands the journey. The night, steeped in the festivalโs gothic charm, became lighter as we walked side by side, two friends celebrating the stories we love. The energy was electric, but as we stood together, posing for the cameras, it felt calm. Thereโs a certain kind of magic in sharing a moment like this, where the excitement and nervousness melt away into something realโtwo women, proud of the work weโve created and the friendship weโve built. Sitges, with its history of embracing the unconventional, was the perfect backdrop for usโa place where we could celebrate the beauty of horror movie.

Just watched someone be burnt alive in their refugee tent in the strip. I do not think it's normal for us to just continue on about our days while this is happening, and I do not think it's normal for people with even a modicum of influence, even if that means reaching one person in rural Kansas, to be silent and/or turn a blind eye. Spineless energy.
