Yesterday, Bitcoin reached a new 5-week high above $11,720. But in the following hours BTC couldn’t sustain its run and hovered around $11,500. BTC initiated another leg up to $11,560 (on Binance) and then lost about $350 in just a few hourly candles. As such, Bitcoin charted its intraday low of $11,310.

Although BTC has recovered from this steep decline, it is still about 0.5% down on a 24-hour scale. Bitcoin currently sits around $11,400. Interestingly enough, this happened despite President Trump calling for additional economic stimulus.

Most larger-cap alternative coins have also charted minor losses since yesterday. Ethereum has dropped by 0.3% and fights to stay above $380. Polkadot (-0.9%), Binance Coin (-1.2%), Chainlink (-2.4%), and Cardano (-3.5%) are also in the red from the top 10. In contrast, Bitcoin Cash has jumped by over 5% to above $250.

The number of unique addresses (7D average) that were active in the Bitcoin blockchain in Q3 increased by 9.2%: 892k—> 974k.

For the same quarter, the number of active Ethereum addresses decreased by 10.3%: 509k —> 457k.

Yesterday, Bitcoin experienced a surge of intraday volatility, rocketing $150 in minutes then collapsing more than $250 just moments later. BTC traded as low as $11,280 and it is currently correcting higher.

There is a short-term contracting triangle forming with resistance near $11,480 on the hourly chart. To start a strong increase, Bitcoin price needs to gain momentum above the $11,500 and $11,560 resistance levels.
