Another bouquet found its way into my hands today, offered without occasion, without explanation, and perhaps that is what makes it all the more precious. Somewhere along the years, he memorized the language of my heart so well that he often notices the things I adore long before I do. Flowers, for instance. I sometimes think he knows my fondness for them better than I ever could. Time has passed, seasons have changed, yet there remains something wonderfully unchanged about us. The way our eyes still linger a second too long, the way affection still arrives unannounced, settling softly between ordinary moments. Loving him has never felt repetitive, it unfolds like a familiar story that somehow discovers new pages every day. As for the little ones, allow their whereabouts to remain a mystery for now. Some evenings are reserved for remembering who we were before we became parents, before schedules and responsibilities occupied every corner of our days. Tonight belongs to two people revisiting a chapter they never truly left behind. I often find myself captivated by him, and not merely for the obvious reasons. The kind that slips past everyone else unnoticed, yet leaves me hopelessly enchanted every single time. And yes, for those quietly piecing together the clues, every stem in this arrangement was chosen by him. A small offering, he called it. Though I suspect it was his way of reclaiming a moment that had been borrowed by the beautiful chaos of raising children. Recently, our days have belonged so completely to everyone else that we nearly forgot how lovely it is to belong, even briefly, to each other. One final thing before I disappear back into this little pocket of happiness. Thank you, Papa. There are affections too vast to be translated into language, feelings that resist every attempt at definition. Mine for you has long existed in that realm. All I know is that with every sunrise, every ordinary day, every fleeting glance across a crowded room, I discover that my heart has made more room for you than it did the day before. ♥️

Fishing on a summer day isn’t for everyone, but I guess I enjoy the sunburn almost as much as the peace.
