🅾️ The PSLV is a four-stage rocket where the first three spent stages fall back into the ocean, and the final stage (PS4) — after launching the satellite into orbit — ends up as space junk.
🅾️ Recently in PSLV-C53 mission , it is for the first time, that PS4 stage has been utilised as a
“stabilised platform”
to perform experiments.
🅾️ POEM is carrying six payloads, including two from Indian space start-ups Digantara and Dhruva Space.
🎯 How will ISRO keep POEM ‘alive and stable’ in orbit?
👉 POEM will derive its power from solar panels mounted around the PS4 tank, and a Li-Ion battery.
👉 It will navigate using “four sun sensors, a magnetometer, gyros & NavIC"
👉 It carries dedicated control thrusters using Helium gas storage. It is also enabled with a telecommand feature

#POEM has a dedicated Navigation Guidance and Control (NGC) system for attitude stabilisation, which stands for controlling the orientation of any aerospace vehicle within permitted limits.
🔵 The NGC acts as the platform’s brain to stabilise it with specified accuracy.

🔵What is PSLV?
👉PSLV is the most reliable rocket used by ISRO till date.
✅️ Its first launch was in 1994, and it has been ISRO’s main rocket ever since.
🔵Apart from Indian satellites, it also carries satellites from other nations into space, like in the current mission, where it carried payloads from Singapore.
🔵The reason for this is that apart from being reliable, the PSLV is also more affordable than the launch vehicles of many other countries.
🔵Chandrayaan-1 and MOM were feathers in the hat of PSLV.
🔵PSLV earned its title ‘the workhorse of ISRO’ through consistently delivering various satellites into low earth orbits

🚀PSLV has four parts —
🔵PS1, a solid rocket motor augmented by 6 solid strap-on boosters;
🔵PS2, a storable liquid rocket engine, known as the Vikas engine;
🔵PS3, a solid rocket motor that provides the upper stages high thrust after the atmospheric phase of the launch;
🔵PS4, the uppermost stage consisting of two Earth storable liquid engines.

The Ministry commemorates 24th April of every year as the National Panchayati Raj Day, as the 73rd Constitutional Amendment came into force on this day in 1992. The day marks a defining moment in the history of decentralising power to the grassroots. The Constitution Amendment Act introduced Part IX regarding Panchayats. It has been a watershed initiative in the democratic polity of the country ushering in an effective local governance system.
PM Modi to inaugurate eGramSwaraj–GeM portal:
PM Modi will be the Chief Guest at the national function to be organised at Special Armed Forces Ground, Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. He will address the elected representatives and functionaries of Panchayati Raj Institutions as well as Special Gram Sabhas across the country. The Prime Minister will inaugurate an integrated e-GramSwaraj and GeM portal for public procurement at the Panchayat level.
The objective of eGramSwaraj–GeM Integration is to enable the Panchayats to procure their goods and services through GeM leveraging the eGramSwaraj platform. The launch is expected to give a boost to the rural economy and entrepreneurship along with strengthening the Digital India Program.
Further, Prime Minister will hand over the SVAMITVA (Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas) Property Card to select beneficiaries, symbolizing the attainment of the milestone of 1.25 crore property cards distribution under SVAMITVA Scheme in the country. The Scheme was launched in 2020 and covers each section of society including SCs, STs, differently-abled, minorities, women and other vulnerable groups.
An exhibition with different thematic stalls showcasing initiatives and achievements under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin), Swachh Bharat Mission–Gramin (SBM-G), Amrit Sarovar, Madhya Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission, Rural Tourism Development (Home Stay), SVAMITVA, Jal Jeevan Mission and other programmes will also be set up.
Marching a step ahead for India@2047:
National Panchayati Raj Day will serve as an important occasion as well as a significant step towards creating awareness and building momentum for India@2047. The government has taken various steps to make India, a developed nation by the 100th year celebration of India’s independence.
To ensure the objectives of the Panchayati Raj are achieved in true letter and spirit, various initiatives have been taken by the government. Most importantly, India has seen a quantum leap in the allocation of fiscal resources to Panchayati Raj Institutions to support various infrastructure requirements and developmental activities in rural areas.
The Government has been taking many initiatives to strengthen and empower Panchayati Raj Institutions, increasing the capacity of representatives. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have been categorized under nine themes for measurable implementation. The nine themes are:
Poverty-Free and Enhanced Livelihoods Village
Healthy Village
Child-Friendly Village
Water Sufficient Village
Clean and Green Village
Village with Self-sufficient Infrastructure
Socially Just & Socially Secured Village
Village with Good Governance
Women Friendly Village
