๏ธ What is a Two-Pillar Tax Package?
๐The Two-Pillar tax package is an international taxation system that is still being developed under the OECD/G20 Inclusive Framework.
๐Once implemented, it has the potential to solve the complex problems of the centuries-old existing international tax system and to make it compatible with the ongoing digital revolution.
๐The two-pillar tax package is beneficial for developing countries in various ways as it would help to put an end to tax havens and also to reduce the rewards for MNEs if they shift the profits out of the developing countries.
๐Moreover, it might help in putting an end to the harmful tax competition and aggressive tax planning going on between countries.
๐The system will further be instrumental in curbing the increasing number of shell companies globally.โ ๏ธ

๏ธ Who are the Hattis?
โญ๏ธ The Hattis are a close-knit community who got their name from their tradition of selling homegrown vegetables, crops, meat and wool etc. at small markets called โhaatโ in towns.
โญ๏ธThe Hatti community, whose men generally don a distinctive white headgear during ceremonies, is cut off from Sirmaur by two rivers called Giri and Tons.
โญ๏ธTons divides it from the Jaunsar Bawar area of Uttarakhand. The Hattis who live in the trans-Giri area and Jaunsar Bawar in Uttarakhand were once part of the royal estate of Sirmaur until Jaunsar Bawarโs separation in 1815.โ ๏ธ
โญ๏ธThe two clans have similar traditions, and inter-marriages are commonplace. There is a fairly rigid caste system among the Hattis โ the Bhat and Khash are the upper castes, while the Badhois are below them. Inter-caste marriages have traditionally remained a strict no-no
